The text of the new collective agreement is now available for consultation. It was received in its present version on September 20th after a period of exchanges between the two parties to convert the terms of the Memorandum of Understating signed earlier this summer.
We are posting it on our web site so that members can familiarize themselves with its content before the electronic voting period scheduled to start on October 15, 2013. The results will be unveiled on October 27th in Montreal, at the General Annual Assembly of Members. While the complete version is at your disposal, a presentation text by Mario Poudrier is also available.
The National President, Mario Poudrier, is presently undertaking meetings with members to explain the main changes included in the new agreement. He was in Toronto on the 19th, he will be in Ottawa on the 24th, in Montreal on the 30th and finally addressing Western members via a telephone conference on October 1st.
Only members in good standing will be asked to approve or reject the new collective agreement. You still have a few days in order to qualify to become a participating member. All you need to do is to print out a copy of the membership application form, fill it out, include a check of $5 made out to the order of APS, and mail everything to 1212 Panet Street, Montreal (Qc) H2L 2Y7. It must be sent before October 4, 2013 in order to comply with our By-laws.
In addition to the agreement, voting will include the acceptance or refusal of our new By-Laws as well as votes on our financial questions.
