ARE YOU A CONTRACTUAL EMPLOYEE?

If you are a contractual employee with 3 years of service or more, you will receive shortly a letter (maybe you already received it) offering you to obtain the status of permanent employee.

This possibility to become a permanent employee is solely on a voluntary basis. You are not obligated to accept the offer; you may choose to remain contractual.

RETROACTIVITY, OR NOT

If you choose to become a permanent employee, you will be provided to opportunity to make the passage from contractual to permanent retroactive to June 1st, 2022, or for the passage to take effect on the day the change request is processed.

IF YOU CHOOSE RETROACTIVITY TO JUNE 1st, 2022

If you choose the retroactivity to June 1st, 2022, you will have to reimburse the premium (12,5% of your salary) received in lieu of the pension plan from June 1st, 2022, to the date the passage to permanent takes effect. You will also have to pay for your share of the contribution to the pension plan for that period and, naturally, for the rest of your career as a permanent employee.

IF YOU DO NOT CHOOSE RETROACTIVITY

In this case, you will simply cease to receive the 12.5% premium mentioned above and start contributing to the defined benefit indexed pension plan starting on the date the passage to permanent takes effect.

TIMELINE

You will be provided with a period of 20 working days to indicate to the employer your acceptance or refusal to become a permanent employee. Should you not respond within that period, it will be considered as a refusal.
